How to find your USDT address and network

Updated · 4 min read

Before you can make a QR code, you need two things: your address and the network it belongs to. Both come from the app where you want to receive the money.

In an exchange app

Menus differ between exchanges, but the path is nearly always the same:

  1. Open Wallet, Assets or Funds.
  2. Tap Deposit (not Withdraw).
  3. Search for USDT (or USDC).
  4. Choose a network, for example TRON (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20).
  5. Copy the address using the copy button. If the screen also shows a memo, tag or comment, note it down too.

The address can change when you change the network. Copy it again whenever you switch.

In a self-custody wallet

In apps like Trust Wallet, MetaMask, TronLink or Phantom:

  1. Tap Receive.
  2. Pick USDT (or USDC). Many wallets list the same token once per network, such as "USDT · TRON" and "USDT · Ethereum".
  3. Copy the address shown.

Wallets that use 0x addresses give you one address for Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon and other compatible networks. The network you tell your sender is what decides where the money goes.

Turn it into a QR card

  1. Open the TokenQR maker.
  2. Choose the same token and network you saw in your app.
  3. Paste the address. You'll see a green check when the format and checksum look right.
  4. Download or print the card.

Habits that prevent mistakes

  • Copy, never type. One wrong character can send money to an address nobody controls.
  • Compare the first and last four characters of the address on the card with the address in your app.
  • Make a new card when you change networks. Old cards keep pointing at the old network.
